Value for Money Home Gym: Bowflex Blaze

If money is a consideration but you still want a good multi-gym, the best option is the Bowflex Blaze. It’s a surprisingly complete all in one home gym that comes at a very friendly price.

In my mind Bowflex was always a bit of a shady company because of the cheesy TV ads. However, while I might not like their marketing very much, the products they make are good and especially the Blaze is very reasonably priced for what you get.

The Bowflex home gyms have a unique system to create resistance. Think about the name ‘bowflex’. A bow bends when you pull on the string. The bowflex system resembles something similar. There are rods attached to the machine. When you move the levers or a cable on the machine, the rod bends. So you can see how that resembles a bow.

Almost all other machine just use a stack of weight plates. The rod system is easily upgradable so you can have plenty of resistance. The lack of weight plates is also what makes this multi-gym so affordable. Steel is actually quite expensive and there is just less of it in resistance rods compared to a weight stack. That’s why the price of these machines can be lower.

The Blaze is also quite compact. The bench sticks out when you’re using it but it’s easily folded up for storage. And then it’s suddenly quite a small multi-gym. This is perfect if you have a home gym space that’s also used for other purposes.

It’s not the most expensive or the biggest you can get although costing more than the previous options. It’s just an awesome multi-station home gym.

Tons of exercise options with advanced movement patterns that help you activate your muscles better. That means more muscle and strength increases. The benefit of a high quality and well-engineered multi-station gym like this is that you get much better/natural movement patterns. Many simpler machines don’t replicate your natural movement patterns. This Body-Solid does this much better. However, to accomplish that, the mechanisms have to be more complicated which drives up cost.

The G6BR is built to survive the apocalypse. The build quality is great and backed up by an amazing lifetime warranty on every part of this machine (For home use. For commercial use there is a different warranty).

Overall, this is an awesome multi-station home gym that will serve you for a long time. It might not be cheap but it will last a couple of decades. And then it’s suddenly much cheaper than a monthly gym membership.

The only drawback is that it’s not a compact machine. It measures 84″L x 58″W x 84″H when assembled. However, you need a bit more space to actually be able to do all the exercises. It’s recommended to have 6’ by 9’ of floor space available.
