Top 3 elliptical trainer warranty

Above is a long list of all many different models. To make it a bit easier, here is a top three of the best warranties you can get on elliptical machines. If a warranty is exactly the same as on another model, they’ll share a spot. Otherwise this top three would be dominated by just a single brand.

1.     Body Craft ECT800G

BodyCraft always offer decent warranties on their products. They can do this because they just make great stuff that’s suitable for home use but also commercial use. That means they’re built with very heavy use in mind. The warranty listed below is for residential use. For commercial use there are different conditions.

  • Frame: Lifetime
  • Parts: 10 Years
  • Labor: 2 Years

Short of offering a lifetime warranty on everything this is the best you’re going to get. A lifetime warranty on frames isn’t uncommon. Not every elliptical offers this but a decent amount do.

However, a 10 year warranty on all parts is pretty much unheard of.  That’s a really great warranty condition that isn’t matched by many other manufacturers.

On top of that, you have 2 years warranty on labor costs. That means that any repairs that have to be done in 2 years are completely free.

2.     Precor EFX400, EFX600, EFX700, EFX800

Or, all their ellipticals meant for home use except the ‘cheapest’ one. I put cheapest between brackets because Precor is an expensive brand and even the cheapest model is quite a few dollars. All the other models are more expensive but also come with great warranty.

Precor makes awesome machines (not only ellipticals) so if you can afford them and want something superb, go for it.

Here are the Precor elliptical warranty details for the models named above.

  • Frame: Lifetime
  • Parts and wear items: 10 years
  • Console: 3 Years
  • Labor: 1 Year

This is almost as good as the number one BodyCraft offer. The only downside is that the warranty on the console is only 3 years. The console is also an expensive part to replace so that is a bit disappointing. However, the rest of the conditions are great.

Besides that, Precor machines are really high quality so you don’t have to be too worried.

3.     BodyCraft ECT400G, ECT500G

Yup, it’s another listing for BodyCraft. This time their cheaper models.

  • Frame: Lifetime
  • Parts: 7 Years
  • Labor: 2 Years

The difference with the number one and two is that the warranty on parts is a bit shorter at 7 years. This is still pretty good hence the top three spot. And you even get two years warranty on labor which is not very common.

For the price, these models offer the best warranty. No, it’s not as good as the Precor warranty but the machines are a lot cheaper as well. So per dollar you’re getting more warranty. That doesn’t mean you’re getting a better machine though. Both BodyCraft and Precor make amazing equipment but there is a reason why one costs more.

Do you need good warranty for a home elliptical?

Strictly you don’t need warranty for anything but then you won’t be covered when anything goes wrong.

Since elliptical trainers are pretty expensive machines and if something goes wrong it might cost you a lot of money to fix it. For that reason, it would be nice to have something that covers your risk in the first period of ownership.

The more expensive a product is, the better I want to be covered. And since elliptical trainers can be multiple thousands of dollars, I would certainly want a warranty on that. Because if I’m spending that kind of money I want to be sure I don’t have to spend any more after that to fix something that should have been right in the first place.

So you really want a warranty, but how good does it have to be? Not everyone wants/wants to pay for a top notch warranty.

You should look for something that covers you for at least about 2 years on most parts. The frame should be covered for longer than that. If there is a manufacturer defect, it will usually show up in the first year. Having an extra year will make sure you are safe.

The frame should be covered for longer. If the frame breaks, the machine is done and should be replaced. You want to buy one where the manufacturer is sure that the frame will last for more than 2 years.

Of course proper maintenance is important for longevity as well. Click here to find out which maintenance you have to perform on your elliptical and how.
